Shortlisted for the Dinesh Allirajah Prize

I don't often find myself on prize shortlists, so let me indulge while I celebrate this one. The Dinesh Allirajah is Comma Press's annual short story prize, named after one of their founder members. The themes always arise out of Allirajah's interests, and this one focused on his dedication to various fandoms, particularly the worlds of jazz and cricket. It was a theme that immediately spoke to me for certain reasons and the story proved a pleasure to write. I have to be coy about the details of the tale as the judges are judging anonymously, but once the prize-giving ceremony is done and dusted on 5th May, I'll come back here and tell you all about it. I may even be celebrating a win, who knows...?
The prize-giving is taking place online via Zoom and you can attend for free if you fancy it: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/dinesh-prize-for-short-fiction-online-prize-giving-tickets-1988179853462
