Spiderseed on the Saboteur Award Shortlist

Extremely delighted to say that Spiderseed has been shortlisted in the Best Short Story Collection category at the Saboteur Awards. Huge thanks to everyone who nominated the collection, I couldn't be more delighted if I tried.

The Saboteur Awards have been going for a few years and are rather unique among the complicated miasma of literature awards. Their focus is on small presses, independent magazines, spoken word performers and events, reviewers, collaborative works and so on, which fosters a really lovely celebration of the nuts and bolts and the grafters of the literature world. Previous winners have included Bad Language, Jackie Hagan, Nikesh Shukla, Hollie McNish and Liar's League, and there are always many more brilliant people and things to discover on the shortlists too.

I'm honoured to stand among them this year with my creepy, weird little collection of odd stories. It's a public vote, so do make sure you get on there now to vote for your favourites. Voting is open now and closes on the 24th May. The award ceremony is on the 27th May down in London town.

And to celebrate the shortlisting, we're slashing a couple of pounds off the price of the book. From now until the 24th May, you can grab a copy of Spiderseed for just £6, and I'll even make the P&P free, how about that? Just head back to the home page and hit the Buy Now button. I'll send you a spider scuttling through the post as fast as is humanly possible.
